I finally finished re-reading the first 6 Harry Potter books, as well as the seventh and final book.
Yes, I am very far behind the rest of the world, I know. Impressively, I managed to make it all these months without accidentally hearing any details of how the series ends. Unless, of course, you count the graffiti saying, "Voldemort Lives" and "Harry Potter Dies" written in chalk on the sidewalks at Mount Holyoke College. But I don't put too much stock in the MHC Sidewalk Literary Critics because I've also seen drawings of cartoon penises on those same sidewalks.
I'm glad to have finished, at my own pace. But I'm sad to have lost my friends. It will be strange to not have the next Harry Potter book to look forward to. But there are still two more movies to anxiously await.
Just in case anyone out there has not read it yet, I won't spoil the ending. But I will say that I am proud to have correctly guessed a couple key points and pleased that J.K Rowling had a couple tricks up her sleeve that I never would have guessed. It must have been difficult to decide how to end such a phenomenon, and I think she did the best she could.
